Title
A resolution supporting the application for the inclusion of a high priority drainage improvement in the Louisiana Office of Community Development Local Government Assistance Program.
Body
WHEREAS, Louisiana Legislative House Bill 2 (Act 27) allocated $10 million for a community assistance program for local governments; and
WHEREAS, the amount available to each parish for the fiscal year is $142,800; and
WHEREAS, drainage improvement projects qualify for the allocated funding; and
WHEREAS, the Montz Master Drainage Plan was completed and recommends improvements to the Montz drainage system; and
WHEREAS, the installation of two 72-inch diameter reinforced corrugated metal culverts under Evangeline Road at the Kansas City Southern Railroad was recommended as a high priority drainage improvement; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish President and the Department of Public Works requests the Council's support for the application to have this recommended improvement included in the Louisiana Office of Community Development Local Government Assistance Program.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, hereby provide this resolution to support the application for the inclusion of a high priority drainage improvement in the Louisiana Office of Community Development Local Government Assistance Program.
