Proclamation: Labranche Wetland Watchers Day
In Recognition: Mr. Barry Guillot

PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Mr. Barry Guillot is a teacher at Harry Hurst Middle School; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Guillot has taken it upon himself to go above and beyond the call of duty in inspiring his students in the study of ecology; and,
WHEREAS, with the guidance of Mr. Guillot, students at Harry Hurst Middle School have formed the LaBranche Wetland Watchers; and,
WHEREAS, the LaBranche Wetland Watchers and Mr. Guillot organized and participated in numerous field day activities in the Bonnet Carre Spillway and the LaBranche Wetlands; and,
WHEREAS, those field days included planting of native vegetation, educational seminars, live Cajun music, reenactments of historical scenes and scientific experiments, and,
WHEREAS, those field days helped to educate and inspire students from surrounding schools as well as those students from Harry Hurst Middle School who helped organize the events.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY COMMEND MR. BARRY GUILLOT FOR THE LEADERSHIP AND DEDICATION HE HAS SHOWN IN PROTECTING AND PRESERVING OUR ENVIRONMENT; AND,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2000, AS
"LABRANCH WETLANDS WATCHERS DAY"
AND HEREBY BESTOW UPON MR. GUILLOT AND ALL OF THE MEMBERS, THE HONOR AND PRESTIGE ASSOCIATED WITH BEING THE BEST EXAMPLE OF CITIZENS OF ST. CHARLES PARISH.
