Title
An ordinance to amend the St. Charles Parish Subdivision Regulations of 1981, Section IV.D.2b. to add A-2000 PVC thermoplastic pipe as acceptable material for roadside drainage system installation and installation standards therefore.
Body
WHEREAS, A-2000 PVC thermoplastic pipe has a lower installation cost; and,
WHEREAS, A-2000 PVC thermoplastic pipe is highly resistant to corrosion and abrasion; and,
WHEREAS, longer laying lengths are used, fewer joints result; and,
WHEREAS, lower maintenance is required; and,
WHEREAS, A-2000 PVC thermoplastic pipe is used by Jefferson Parish, the City of Kenner, as well as other neighboring municipalities; and,
WHEREAS, A-2000 PVC thermoplastic pipe has been approved by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That Section IV.D.2b. of the St. Charles Parish Subdivision Ordinance of 1981 be amended by adding the following (shown in bold) to subsection 6.:
6. Culvert sizes shall match those for the lot or parcel as shown on the approved subdivision plan. Culverts may be either corrugated metal, concrete, or A-2000 PVC thermoplastic pipe, unless the Director of Public Works/Wastewater imposes stricter regulations.
