An ordinance to amend the Code of Ordinances for the Parish of St. Charles, Chapter 1 General Provisions, Section 1-2. Rules of construction and definitions by adding the definition of Holiday.

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 1 General Provisions, Section 1-2. Rules of construction and definitions be hereby amended by adding the following with new text underlined and deleted text in strikethrough:
Holiday. A day fixed by law or custom in commemoration of some event or in honor of some person on which all ordinary business is suspended and all Parish employees are exempt from work, except for employees whose position requires that work be performed on a holiday.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
And the ordinance was declared adopted this day of , 2019, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
