Title

A resolution providing mandatory supporting authorization for an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) at 511 Arlington Drive, Destrehan, with a waiver from the required 20 foot rear yard setback, a waiver from the required 5 foot side yard setback, as requested by Terry and Katherine Telschow.

Body

WHEREAS,                     Terry and Katherine Telschow requested a Special Permit Use for an accessory dwelling unit at 511 Arlington Drive, Destrehan with a waiver from the required 20 foot rear yard setback to 9 feet 3 inches and also a waiver from the required 5 foot yard setback to 2 feet; and,

WHEREAS,                     the Planning & Zoning Department did not recommend approval of the request; and,

WHEREAS,                     the Planning & Zoning Commission approved the Special Permit Use with the requested waivers at their regular meeting of September 7, 2017.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL hereby supports the Planning and Zoning Commission’s decision to approve a Special Permit Use for an accessory dwelling unit at 511 Arlington Street, Destrehan, zoning district R-1A, with waivers from the required 20 foot rear yard to 9 feet 3.5 inches and also from the required 5 foot side yard to 2 feet.

                     The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
