A resolution to amend the Parish Council Rules to revise Rule 36. to call for a non-objectionable 10 minute recess prior to any Council member being continually ruled out of order for any disorderly conduct during Council meetings.
Body
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby amend Rule 36. to read as follows:
RULE 36. (AS WRITTEN)
No Council member shall make personal, impertinent, slanderous or profane remarks to any member of the Council, staff or general public during any regular, special or committee meeting of the Council. Any Council member who makes such remarks, or who utters loud, threatening, personal or abusive language, or engages in any other disorderly conduct which disrupts, disturbs or otherwise impedes the orderly conduct of any Council meeting shall be immediately ruled out of order by the Chairman. If the offending Council member continues, the Chairman or a majority of the Council, may adjourn the meeting and name the time and place where a new meeting shall be called, or have security remove the offending Council member for the remainder of the meeting.
RULE 36. (REVISED)
