TRIBUTE

District IV, Councilman Nicky Dufrene is a lifelong resident of Des Allemands and St. Charles Parish.  He is the proud father of two children, Gabié and Nicholas.

 

Councilman Dufrene is a graduate of Hahnville High School, he attended Louisiana State University, and earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts Degree from the University of New Orleans.  He is the President of DuFrazier Services, LLC.

 

Councilman Dufrene is a Military Combat Veteran having served in the United States Army and the Louisiana National Guard.  He is a Veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm and is a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

 

Councilman Dufrene was elected to the St. Charles Parish Council on October 12, 2019, taking office January 13, 2020, as District IV, Councilman.

 

Councilman Dufrene served as a member of the Special Projects/Public Safety, Health, and Environmental Committee and as Chairman for 2021, he served as a member of the Operations, Maintenance and Construction Management Committee and as Chairman for 2022 and 2023, and as a member for four years.  He served as a member of the Contract/Finance and Administrative Committee, the Legislative Committee, and the Hurricane Protection Projects Committee.

 

Councilman Dufrene served as a member of the Community Action Advisory Board and the Sunset Drainage District Board of Commissioners.

 

Councilman Dufrene was also a member of the Louisiana Police Jury Association (PJAL), the National Association of County Officials (NACo), and NACo’s Veterans and Military Services Committee.
