IN   RECOGNITION
 
WHEREAS,      Janet Nelson is the daughter of Stephen and Staci Nelson of LaPlace, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS,      Janet attends St. Joan of Arc Catholic School in LaPlace; and,
WHEREAS,      Janet is an Honor Roll Student, 4-H President, and Beta Club Representative; and,
WHEREAS,      Janet enjoys cake decorating, dancing, reading, and crafting; and,
WHEREAS,      Janet was crowned Junior Queen III in the 3rd Annual Festival of Charities Pageant on April 26, 2009, at the American Legion Hall in St. Rose; and,
WHEREAS,      the Festival of Charities is a non-profit organization that started in October 2007, whose goal is to celebrate the lives of many special individuals in our Community and State by showing that beauty and care have no boundaries.  The organization benefits the Down Syndrome Association of Greater New Orleans, The ARC of St. Charles, and many other area charitable organizations; and,
WHEREAS,      as Junior Queen, Janet will represent the Festival of Charities at local and parish events as well as travel the State of Louisiana raising awareness of the Organization's mission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
