Title
An ordinance to revoke and abandon Modoc Street, and portions of Jonathan Street, Pelican Street, Amie Street, Jean Street, and Destrehan Park Subdivision, as shown on the map by Michael P. Blanchard, PLS, signed and dated February 5, 2024.
Body
WHEREAS, Modoc Street, and portions of Jonathan Street (Destrehan), Pelican Street (St. Charles), Amie Street, and Jean Street were developed as part of Destrehan Park Subdivision as shown on the map by Clifford G. Webb, CE, dated November 23, 1951, revised August 26, 1952, and statutorily dedicated therein to public ownership and accepted therein by the President of the St. Charles Parish Police Jury; and,
WHEREAS, the lots fronting the portions of the streets to be revoked have since been acquired by Bunge North America Inc./Bunge Corporation/Bunge Chevron Ag Renewables LLC; and,
WHEREAS, the properties are in Destrehan Park Subdivision and are owned by Bunge North America Inc. (successor to Bunge Corporation) and Bunge Chevron Ag Renewables LLC; and,
WHEREAS, as per Chapter 2, Article I, Section 2-4 of the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Bunge North America Inc. and Bunge Chevron AG Renewables have requested the revocation of Modoc Street, and portions of Jonathan Street, Pelican Street, Amie Street, and Jean Street as shown on the map by Michael P. Blanchard, PLS, signed and dated February 5, 2024; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the revocation at its regular meeting on March 7, 2024; and,
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council wishes to revoke said property pursuant to Chapter 2, Article I, Section 2-4 of the Code of Ordinances, as said property is no longer needed for public purposes.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
