Title
A resolution requesting the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to review and study the area on LA 18 and Sugarland Parkway in Luling for the installation of a turn lane to protect the residents.
Body
WHEREAS, LA 18 is a very heavily traveled roadway used by industry, residents, and school buses; and,
WHEREAS, with the increased development on Sugarland Parkway, the existing St. Charles Parish School Satellite Center, R. K. Smith Middle School, and the St. Charles Parish School Board Office, the increase in traffic turning southward, crossing on to on-going traffic creates the potential for a dangerous situation.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development review and study the area on LA 18 and Sugarland Parkway in Luling for the installation of a turn lane to protect the residents.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be forwarded to Governor Bobby Jindal, Senator Joel T. Chaisson, II, Representative Gary L. Smith, Jr., and Representative Ernest D. Wooton.
