Title
An ordinance to amend Appendix A. The St. Charles Parish Zoning Ordinance of 1981, Section V.2. to make the Digital Zoning Map of the St. Charles Parish Geographic Information System the official Zoning map of the Parish.
Body
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 83-8-13 designated both the "St. Charles Parish Zoning Districts Maps" and "St. Charles Parish Aerial Zoning District Maps." As the official Zoning Maps of St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish now maintains a Geographic Information System (GIS) system that contains a Zoning Map; and,
WHEREAS, both sets of paper maps and the GIS maps are maintained with the correct zoning; and,
WHEREAS, the paper maps are only being maintained for the purpose of fulfilling the ordinance requirement; and,
WHEREAS, the digital maps contained in the GIS System are less expensive to maintain and are more current with aerial photography and other department's information; and,
WHEREAS, access to the information is much more available to the public using the digital format.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the St. Charles Parish Code, Appendix A. The St. Charles Parish Zoning Ordinance of 1981, Section V.2. is amended as follows:
2. Zoning district maps and boundaries. The location and boundaries of the various zoning districts shall be as delineated on the St. Charles Parish Geographic Information Systems (GIS) map entitled 'Official Zoning Map, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana' as amended. This map, including overlay districts, shall be on file in the St. Charles Parish Planning and Zoning Office in electronic and hard-copy (paper) format with copies available upon request. The "Official Zoning Map" shall also be available for viewing on the St. Charles Parish website. are shown as two (2) separate map sets entitled "St. Charles Parish Zoning Districts Map...
