Title
A resolution to amend the Parish Council Rules to revise Rule 31 to allow any council member to raise the motion to reconsider a vote.
Body
WHEREAS, the current Council Rule states that a vote may be reconsidered at any time during the same meeting; and,
WHEREAS, the current Council Rule is not specific on who can raise the motion to reconsider a vote.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby amend Rule 31 to read as follows:
RULE 31. (AS WRITTEN)
A vote may be reconsidered at any time during the same meeting. A vote can be reconsidered at any future meeting provided the ordinance has not become law.
RULE 31. (REVISED)
Any council member may raise the motion to reconsider a vote at any time during the same meeting. A vote can be reconsidered by any council member at any future meeting provided the ordinance has not become law.
