Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a Construction Contract with Cycle Construction Company, LLC for Project No. P080905-5B, Ellington Levee - Phase I Project, as part of the West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee Project, State Project No. BA-85, in the amount of $8,478,497.00.
Body
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by St. Charles Parish on October 19, 2015, for Project No. P080905-5B, Ellington Levee - Phase I Project, as part of the West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee Project, State Project No. BA-85; and,
WHEREAS, Burk-Kleinpeter, Inc., Mark Roberts, P.E., the Consulting Engineer for the Project, has reviewed the bids and recommended that the Contract be awarded to the lowest responsive bidder, Cycle Construction Company, LLC in the amount of $8,478,497.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Ellington Levee - Phase I Project, as part of the West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee Project, will provide flood protection to approximately 1,413 acres, 2,438 structures and 49 miles of public streets located in Boutte and Luling south of U.S. Hwy. 90; and,
WHEREAS, the Ellington Levee - Phase I Project includes the construction of an earthen levee via on-site borrow and placement of compacted embankments, surfacing, clearing and grubbing, dewatering, culvert installations, installation of drain line and inlets at specified locations, placing silt fencing, constructing ramps, fertilizing, seeding, and mulching; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 14-11-1 on November 3, 2014, approved Amendment No. 3 to the Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the State of Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority Board (CPRA) that provides $8,000,000 in State funding for construction costs for said project.
