Title
An ordinance amending Chapter 16 “Nuisances”, Section 16-25 (b) of the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances relative to “Prohibited”, “Notice to abate” and “Abatement by Parish”, in St. Charles Parish.
Body
WHEREAS, uncut grass and weeds on properties in St. Charles Parish continue to be a problem and an eyesore within the Parish; and,
WHEREAS, ponding of water on properties in St. Charles Parish hinders the grass cutting operation; and,
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of St. Charles Parish to amend the Code of Ordinances.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That Section 16-25 “Prohibited”, Section (b) is hereby amended to read as follows:
(b) It shall be unlawful for the owner, or his agent, of any undeveloped residential property within the parish lying within areas subdivided into squares/lots to permit the growth of tall grass and/or weeds upon the entire area of the subject property. It is required that a minimum amount of fill be placed on each lot in order to prevent ponding of water and allow grass to be maintained. It shall also be unlawful for the owner or his agent to allow the accumulation of trash upon the entire area of the subject property.
