IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, it is with great joy and profound honor that we celebrate the remarkable life and 100th birthday of Mrs. Viola Richnair Smith, born February 12, 1925, in Taft, Louisiana, as she reached this significant milestone in her life; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Smith is a beloved matriarch, cherished by her family and the community, and has lived a full and rich life, marked by her unwavering strength, wisdom, love, and dedication to her family and community; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Smith is the daughter of the late Edward Richnair and Ella Darensbourg-Richnair Jones, who laid the foundation for her values and work ethic, passing on the legacy of love, compassion, and perseverance; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Smith was united in marriage to the late Roland N. Smith, and together they built a strong and loving family that continues to thrive across five generations, a living testament to their shared love and commitment to family; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Smith has called the towns of Killona and Hahnville, Louisiana, home, where she has made a significant and lasting impact on her community, always ready to help and serve others with a kind heart and an open spirit; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Smith celebrated her 100th birthday on February 12, 2025.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT,
do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
VIOLA RICHNAIR SMITH
ON HER
100TH BIRTHDAY
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we express our deepest admiration and gratitude for the example she has set for us all, as a woman of grace, and love, whose life continues to inspire and touch the hearts of everyone around her.
In honor of this milestone, we recognize and celebrate her enduring legacy.
