IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Erika L. Beck is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Destrehan, Louisiana and is the daughter of Eric & Vivian Beck; and,
WHEREAS, Erika is a Freshman at Destrehan High School and plans to attend Southeastern Louisiana University to major in Business; and,
WHEREAS, Erika is an Honor Roll Student, a member of the Beta Club, a member of the Student Council and Yearbook Staff; she was the Parish and State winner in the Social Studies Fair, received the Character Education Citizenship Award, the National Conservation Award, and the Community Service Award - Wetland Watchers; and,
WHEREAS, Erika has been a dancer for thirteen years and is a member of the Desty Darlings Dance Team at Destrehan High School; and,
WHEREAS, Erika is a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, participates and volunteers with the Asthma Walk, the German Coast Farmer's Market, Harry Hurst Wetland Watchers, and Ormond Senior Center - Visitation and Entertainment Program; and,
WHEREAS, Erika enjoys babysitting, fishing, outdoor sports and recreation; she considers herself the "Queen of Fishing", enjoys being outdoors and participating in recreational activities such as crabbing, boating, mud riding, and other water sports; and,
WHEREAS, Erika describes herself as being determined, outgoing, and personable; she believes "having the opportunity not only as a resident of St. Charles Parish, but also as a young positive role model in the Community would be such an amazing learning experience not only for myself but for residents of Louisiana".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
