IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Darryl L. Richard, II is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Destrehan with his mother Tanda Richard and his three sisters Tiffany, Darolyn, and Caitlan and is the son of Darryl Richard of St. Rose, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, Darryl has excelled in academics with a 4.0 GPA and is the Destrehan High School Valedictorian for the graduating class of 2004; and,
WHEREAS, Darryl's many activities and accomplishments include the following: Student Council, Student Body President his Senior Year, St. Charles Parish Student of the Year and Destrehan High School Student of the Year, he received the Character Education Award, National Achiever Scholar, was Treasurer of the National Honor Society, played football for four years as Defensive Lineman, was chosen as Parish MVP Defense, All-River Parish, All-District, All-State, and All-American Football Team as Defensive Lineman. In addition, he participated in three years of basketball, and four years of track attending Regional twice and placed 7th in the State for shot putt; and,
WHEREAS, Darryl has received numerous scholarship offers throughout the United States; he will attend Georgia Tech in the fall on a Football Scholarship majoring in Quantitative & Computational Finance. He is also the recipient of the National Merit Achievement Award Scholarship; and,
WHEREAS, Darryl is working as an Umpire with the Tri-Parish Umpire Association.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
