IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, During the week of September 13, 2004 our Parish was threatened by Hurricane Ivan; and,
WHEREAS, Parish Government, Agencies, Industry, Emergency Personnel, and the citizens of St. Charles Parish joined forces to aid in the preparation, weathering of, and aftermath of this possibly catastrophic act of nature; and,
WHEREAS, Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who were hit by Hurricane Ivan; and,
WHEREAS, We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the countless hours of hard work and dedication to all those responsible for protecting our lives and property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to all those responsible for protecting the citizens of St. Charles Parish:
DEPARTMENTS OF EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS, PUBLIC WORKS, WASTEWATER, WATERWORKS, RECREATION, PURCHASING, GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS, PUBLIC INFORMATION; COUNCIL ON AGING, RETIRED SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM, SHERIFF'S OFFICE, 911 COMMUNICATIONS DISTRICT, THE CORRECTIONS FACILITY, ST. CHARLES PARISH PUBLIC SCHOOLS, ST. CHARLES VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS, ST. CHARLES PARISH HOSPITAL, EMERGENCY SERVICES, RED CROSS, LOUISIANA STATE POLICE, LOUISIANA NATIONAL GUARD, INDUSTRY, LOUISIANA OFFICE OF EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS, ENTERGY,
AND BELL SOUTH.
