Proclamation: "National Volunteer Week and Prime Time Seniors Volunteer Day in St. Charles Parish"

P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, National Volunteer Week was established by Presidential Proclamation in 1974 to highlight the various opportunities available for those interested in volunteering; and,
WHEREAS, Volunteer Week is an opportunity to recognize and thank volunteers who lend their time, talent, voice, and support to causes in their community, and celebrate the impact of change-makers in the community and inspire others to serve; and,
WHEREAS, Prime Time Seniors enables older Americans aged 55 and over to enrich their lives through recreation, education, and socialization; and,
WHEREAS, Prime Time Seniors' volunteers are recruited and assigned locally to serve on a regular basis throughout their communities in local schools, libraries, hospitals, adult day care centers, senior centers, nursing homes, veterans homes, museums, government agencies, and many other community service organizations, providing services in literacy, substance abuse prevention, mass care, disaster relief, to name a few; and,
WHEREAS, Prime Time Seniors Volunteer Day is a great opportunity to recognize and thank the retired and senior volunteers for giving back to their communities.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM APRIL 24-28, 2025, AS
"NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK"
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THURSDAY, APRIL 24, 2025, AS
"PRIME TIME SENIORS VOLUNTEER DAY IN ST. CHARLES PARISH"
