IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Andrew Key Wood is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Luling, Louisiana with his parents Andy and Jo Rae and his sister Erin who is a MPA student at LSU in Baton Rouge; and,
WHEREAS, Andrew is a Junior Assistant Scout Master and Member of Troop 370, chartered by St. Anthony Catholic Church; he started his Scouting career as a six year old Tiger Cub, working his way through the ranks as a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and finally an Eagle Scout; and,
WHEREAS, Andrew has spent twelve years as an active member of the Scouts spending his time preparing to become an Eagle Scout; and,
WHEREAS, Andrew has earned his 21 required merit badges and seven elective badges from a list of 132 badges and completed his Eagle Scout Service Project by leading a group in construction and installing hurricane protection shutters for Luling United Methodist Church's parsonage; and,
WHEREAS, Andrew earned these 28 required badges by showing leadership ability as Junior Assistant Scout Master, Senior Patrol Leader for three years, Instructor, Den Chief, and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader; and,
WHEREAS, Andrew rose to the rank of EAGLE SCOUT on November 1, 2006 and received his medal in a ceremony on February 10, 2007 at Luling United Methodist Church; and,
WHEREAS, Andrew graduated on May 18, 2007 from Hahnville High School and will attend Louisiana Technical College's River Parishes campus under a scholarship received from Motiva, studying Process Technology. Andrew will continue to grow as an Eagle Scout by keeping active in the Scouting Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
