Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a Contract with Aegis Construction, Inc., for the construction of the St. Charles Parish Emergency Operations Center at 15026 River Road in Hahnville, Base bid and Alternate No. 1, in the amount of $5,845,000.00, FEMA Project No. 2008-EO-T8-0010, FP&C Project No. 50-J45-09-01.
Body
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by St. Charles Parish on November 3, 2011, for FEMA Project No. 2008-EO-T8-0010, FP&C Project No. 50-J45-09-01, the St. Charles Parish Emergency Operations Center; and,
WHEREAS, Duplantis Design Group, PC, Andy Positerry, AIA, Principal, the Architect for said project, has reviewed the bids and recommended that the Contract be awarded to the low bidder, Aegis Construction, Inc., in the amount of $5,845,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, grant funding and donations are available for said project as follows:
$ 750,000.00 FEMA FY 2008 EOC Grant Program
$ 595,000.00 FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program
$ 945,600.00 State Capital Outlay
$ 100,000.00 State Appropriation
$ 870,000.00 Dow Chemical
$ 3,260,600.00 Total
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of St. Charles Parish to award the Base Bid (Emergency Operations Center), Alternate No. 1 (Parking Area Expansion), for the benefit of all residents of the Parish.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the bid of Aegis Construction, Inc., for the construction of FEMA Project No. 2008-EO-T8-0010, FP&C Project No. 50-J45-09-01, the St. Charles Parish Emergency Operations Center, with Base Bid and Alternate No. 1, is hereby approved and accepted in the amount of $5,845,000.00.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
