IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Ariel Christina Morris is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Destrehan, Louisiana with her parents Steven and Billie Morris and her younger brother, Mason; and,
WHEREAS, Ariel is a Junior at Destrehan High School with a 3.6 GPA; and,
WHEREAS, after graduating High School, Ariel plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette majoring in Journalism with a minor in Broadcasting; and,
WHEREAS, Ariel has been a cheerleader for Destrehan High School for three years, accepted and attended the Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia, has participated in classical ballet over the past ten years, was cast the part of "Clara" in the River Region Ballet's 2006 production of "The Nutcracker" and has performed in numerous other productions with the River Region Ballet, is a proud "Wetland Watcher", and has participated in the Down Syndrome Association of Greater New Orleans Buddy Walk; and,
WHEREAS, Ariel was crowned the first St. Charles Spring Festival Teen Queen in 2007; and,
WHEREAS, on August 2, 2008, Ariel was crowned the 13th Teen Queen at the 50th Annual St. Charles Parish Festival held at Destrehan High School; and,
WHEREAS, Ariel states, "I would love to travel our great State to promote our unique Parish, the "Parish of Plenty", and learn about other Parishes and what they have to offer"; and,
WHEREAS, Ariel describes herself as being optimistic, caring and vivacious.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
