RESOLUTION NO. 4553
Title
A resolution authorizing the Administration to acquire the three historical cypress luggers built by the Des Allemands Dufrene Family.
Body
WHEREAS, for historical purposes the Dufrene family has attempted to preserve three cypress luggers (boats) built by family members and ancestors; and,
WHEREAS, these boats are very old and in need of restoration work; and,
WHEREAS, it is important that the Parish Government take steps as soon as possible to assist in preserving such artifacts of the heritage of our area; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish Council would like to acquire these three luggers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby authorize the Administration to
acquire the three historical cypress luggers built by the Des Allemands Dufrene Family.

The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:

And the resolution was declared adopted this 17th day of August , 1998, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
