IN   RECOGNITION
WHEREAS,      Dawan Landry's hometown is Ama, Louisiana in St. Charles Parish.  His parents are Frank and Rhonda Landry, and his two brothers are LaRon and Derick; and,
WHEREAS,      Dawan is a 2001 graduate of Hahnville High School and on December 17, 2005 earned his degree from Georgia Tech in Atlanta with a Major in Management; and,
WHEREAS,      at Georgia Tech, Dawan started 37 times in 50 games, a model of consistency he ranked 3rd in the schools history of defensive backs with 250 tackles; and,
WHEREAS,      Dawan is a tough safety, comes up quickly in run support and makes hard, physical hits/tackles.  He reacts quickly to the run and combined with his competitiveness makes tackles from sideline to sideline.  He is an aggressive blitzer, drives through running backs who try to block him and consistently gets good hits on the quarterback; and,
WHEREAS,      in 2006 Dawan joined the NFL and was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens with the 146th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2006 NFL Draft.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
