P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, Halloween has always been a celebration filled with mystery, magic, and superstition, and is still celebrated today in several countries around the globe; and,
WHEREAS, Halloween time is fun for all ages with bonfires, frightening ghost stories, pranks, elaborate and scary costumes, kids trick-or-treating, bobbing for apples, Jack-o'-Lanterns, costume parties and costume contests, and area community haunted houses; and,
WHEREAS, on Halloween, we all revel in being scared; and,
WHEREAS, BJ's Mobile Services, LLC will host the "House of Horrors" haunted house every weekend in October; admission will be $9.00 for students and $10.00 for adults; food and non-alcoholic beverages will be sold.
NOW, THEREFORE, WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM OCTOBER 2009, AS
"HOUSE OF HORRORS MONTH"
IN ST. CHARLES PARISH AND ENCOURAGE ALL CITIZENS TO ATTEND THE HAUNTING FESTIVITIES AT 14291 HIGHWAY 90 IN BOUTTE, ON OCTOBER 1-4, 8-11, 15-18, 22-31, 2009, FROM 6:00 P.M. TO MIDNIGHT.
