 IN   RECOGNITION
WHEREAS,      Courtney Lanaux is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Luling, Louisiana with her parents Denis and Lisa Lanaux; and,
WHEREAS,      Courtney is a Senior at Hahnville High School and plans to attend Louisiana State University majoring in biology, with an eye toward becoming a pediatrician; and,
WHEREAS,      Courtney is a member of the Hi-Steppers Dance Team, Student Council, Beta Club, National Honor Society, Symphonic Band, and Yearbook Staff; and,
WHEREAS,      Courtney was crowned St. Charles Parish Farm Bureau Queen on April 1, 2006 at Harry Hurst Middle School, Destrehan; and,
WHEREAS,      Courtney is the fourth generation of a sugarcane-growing family and her knowledge of agriculture and Farm Bureau put her at the top of a competitive list of young women competing in the State Farm Bureau Queen contest; and,
WHEREAS,      Courtney was crowned the 2006 State Farm Bureau Queen at the organization's 84th Annual Meeting held July 8, 2006 in New Orleans; and,
WHEREAS,      Courtney was victorious over 29 other contestants vying to represent the organization and agriculture for the next year and as Queen, Courtney will serve as an Agriculture Ambassador, attending various fairs, festivals, and other events across Louisiana.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
COURTNEY LANAUX
