RESOLUTION NO.  5403      

Title

A resolution requesting the St. Charles Parish Library Board investigate and recommend establishing a Satellite Library Center in the Historical American Legion Building in Des Allemands.

Body

WHEREAS,      the Des Allemands and Paradis area does not presently have a library; and,

WHEREAS,      the American Legion Building is of historical value and is presently owned by St. Charles Parish and the St. Charles Historical Society; and,

WHEREAS,      the need exists to have a Library near the Allemands Elementary School; and,

WHEREAS,      the St. Charles Parish Library Board needs to explore the implementation of a Satellite Library until which time in the future a new library can be built in the Des Allemands/Paradis area.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request the St. Charles Parish Library Board investigate and recommend establishing a Satellite Library Center in the Historical American Legion Building in Des Allemands.
