IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Alysia “Lecy” Cazalot is the daughter of Duanne and Al Cazalot of Destrehan, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, Lecy was born with the rarest form of Down Syndrome known as Mosaic and is a Special Education Graduate of Destrehan High School where she received the Cox Inspirational Hero Award; and,
WHEREAS, Lecy is a Gold Medal Special Olympic Member and enjoys traveling, pageants, modeling, participating in the Special Olympics, dancing, purse collecting, and especially visiting Walt Disney World; and,
WHEREAS, Lecy was crowned Butterfly Queen Ambassador in the 9th Annual Festival of Charities Pageant on August 9, 2015, at the American Legion Hall in St. Rose, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, the Festival of Charities is a non-profit organization that started in October 2007, which benefits the Down Syndrome Association of Greater New Orleans and other charitable organizations; and,
WHEREAS, as Butterfly Queen Ambassador, Lecy will represent the Festival of Charities at local and parish events as well as travel the State of Louisiana to help raise awareness for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater New Orleans.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
