A resolution requesting temporary exemption from the hours stated in the Noise Ordinance, 09-7-12, adopted on July 20, 2009, for contractors operating on a 24 hour, 7 day a week basis, on the Western Tie-In Levee Project.
Body
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request temporary exemption from the hours stated in the Noise Ordinance, 09-7-12, adopted on July 20, 2009, for contractors operating on a 24 hour, 7 day a week basis, on the Western Tie-In Levee Project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a thirty six (36) hours advance notice is required by the Parish to the St. Charles Parish Emergency Operations Center, St. Charles Sheriff's Department, and the St. Charles Parish Department of Public Works prior to commencement of such operations to allow for suitable arrangements for inspections of night operations.
BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED, that adequate lighting for thorough inspection of night operations shall be provided by the Contractor at his/her own expense.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Contractors working weekends, holidays, and nights on the Western Tie-In Levee Project shall be exempt from the hours stated in the current Noise Ordinance, and these exemptions for extended hours are necessary to provide innovative ways to assist in meeting our goal of 100-yr storm damage risk reduction by June 2011.
BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED, that pile driving or extracting operations are not permitted between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
