Title
An ordinance to amend the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Appendix C of the Subdivision Ordinances, Section IV. E. Miscellaneous regarding street light fixtures by changing the required light fixtures from mercury vapor to high pressure sodium due to the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This act specifically states “Mercury Vapor ballasts shall not be manufactured or imported after January 1, 2008.”
Body
WHEREAS, the Subdivision Regulations stipulate mercury vapor lights as being required; and,
WHEREAS, mercury vapor fixtures for streetlights are obsolete; and,
WHEREAS, what are currently required are 100W High Pressure Sodium fixtures; and,
WHEREAS, the Subdivision Regulations should stipulate 100W High Pressure Sodium fixtures for streetlights.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Appendix C of the Subdivision Ordinances, Section IV. E. Miscellaneous 3.a.1. regarding street light fixtures is hereby amended as follows:
1. Westinghouse mercury lamps RMA 10 including 890D242 G-16 Head, 890D055 G-15 Reflector assembly, 175 watt, 240 plus 5% volts H39 22 kc/w lamp and Fisher Pierce Series 6660 LUMARK HPEL10 100W High Pressure Sodium fixtures RMA 10SR255LPV5 Photocell or approved equal.
