ORDINANCE NO.
Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the Parish President to execute an Agreement for Professional Services with the South Central Planning and Development Commission and the University of New Orleans for the implementation of a Strategic Plan for St. Charles Parish.
Body
WHEREAS, in 1989, the St. Charles Parish Council approved Resolution #3399, authorizing the adoption and implementation of the Strategic Plan for St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, in 1995, the St. Charles Parish Council approved the revisions made by the St. Charles Parish Economic Development Council to the original St. Charles Parish Strategic Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Economic Development Council and the St. Charles Parish Department of Economic Development & Tourism has identified the need to prepare a new Strategic Economic Development Plan for the Parish; and,
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Economic Development Council and the St. Charles Parish Council at their August 21, 2000 meeting reviewed a proposal submitted by the South Central Planning and Development Commission and the University of New Orleans; and,
WHEREAS, at the June 21, 2000 meeting of the Economic Development Council, the proposal was approved and is hereby forwarded to the Parish Council for their concurrence and acceptance.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the attached Proposal for Assistance in the Design and Implementation of a Strategic Plan for St. Charles Parish, by and between the Parish of St. Charles and the South Central Planning and Development Commission and the University of New Orleans is hereby approved.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute the agreements contained in the attached proposal on behalf of the Parish of St. Charles.
