Title
An ordinance placing a MORATORIUM on the issuance of permits for mobile homes along First Street, Second Street, Third Street, Fourth Street, Short Street, and Crespo Lane in St. Rose, until February 1, 2010.
Body
WHEREAS, over the past year the residents of the Elkinsville Subdivision area have worked diligently to reduce the impacts abandoned structures in their neighborhood; and,
WHEREAS, several blighted structures have been voluntarily demolished thereby making these properties available for new homes; and,
WHEREAS, an analysis of whether the current zoning, (R-1AM), allowing mobile homes is appropriate; and,
WHEREAS, until such analysis is completed a Moratorium should be established on the issuance of permits for mobile homes.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That there is hereby imposed a MORATORIUM on the issuance of permits for mobile homes along First Street, Second Street, Third Street, Fourth Street, Short Street, and Crespo Lane in St. Rose, until February 1, 2010.
SECTION II. That this MORATORIUM shall not apply on properties that currently contain a legally permitted mobile home should a replacement of that structure be necessary.
