Title
An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of a contract with Sealevel Construction, Inc., for Project No. P080905-5F, CPRA Project No. BA-0244, Ellington Structures-Kellogg Pump Station T-Wall, as part of the West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee Project, in the amount of $4,323,888.00.

WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by St. Charles Parish on February 1, 2022 for Project No. P080905-5F, CPRA Project No. BA-0244, Ellington Structures - Kellogg Pump Station T-Wall, as part of the West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee Project; and,
WHEREAS, Burk-Kleinpeter, Inc., Henry Picard, P.E., the Consulting Engineer for the Project, has reviewed the bids and recommend that the Contract be awarded to the lowest responsive bidder, Sealevel Construction, Inc. in the amount of $4,323,888.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Ellington Structures - Kellogg Pump Station T-Wall Project, as part of the West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee Project, will provide flood protection to approximately 1,413 acres, 2,438 structures and 49 miles of public streets located in Boutte and Luling south of U.S. Hwy. 90; and,
WHEREAS, the Ellington Structures - Kellogg Pump Station T-Wall Project includes the construction of ninety (90) linear feet of concrete wall, consisting of batter "H" piles, hundred and fifty (150) feet of sheet pile, extension of three (3) forty-eight (48) inch pump discharge lines, addition of three (3) forty-eight-inch isolation butterfly valves, tie-in to existing levee system, and installation of road mats over existing discharge lines; and,
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 6522, adopted on November 16, 2020, approved an Intergovernmental Agreement with the State of Louisiana through the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority Board to provide $2,500,000.00 in funding for construction costs for said project.
