ORDINANCE NO. __________
Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a contract with Barriere Construction Company, LLC. for the construction of Parish Project No. P021201, Road Maintenance 2004, with Base Bid and Alternate 1, in the amount of $1,145,318.00.
Body
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by St. Charles Parish on August 6, 2004 for Road Maintenance 2004; and,
WHEREAS, Shread-Kuyrkendall and Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers for the Project, have reviewed the bids and recommend that the Contract be awarded to the low bidder, Barriere Construction Company, LLC. in the Base Bid amount of $1,045,653.00; and,
WHEREAS, due to the fact that the Base Bid was under the projected construction cost estimate and budgeted amount, Shread-Kuyrkendall and Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers for the Project, recommends Alternate 1 be awarded in the amount of $99,665.00.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the bid of Barriere Construction Company, LLC. for the construction of St. Charles Parish Project No. P021201, Road Maintenance 2004, be hereby accepted, with Base Bid and Alternate 1, in the amount of $1,145,318.00.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute the attached contract documents.
