Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of the Reach 1A - Reach 1B Pump Stations Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between Pontchartrain Levee District and St. Charles Parish for the Lake Pontchartrain and Vicinity Hurricane Protection Levee Pump Stations in the St. Rose Area.
Body
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish and the Pontchartrain Levee District have joint responsibility for providing comprehensive flood protection to protect lives and property within their territorial jurisdictions; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fulfill that responsibility, the Parish and the Levee District have agreed to continue with the construction of additional pump stations along the Lake Pontchartrain and Vicinity Hurricane Protection Levee for St. Charles Parish in the St. Rose Area through a cost sharing arrangement; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish and the Levee District to define their respective duties and responsibilities in respect to said cost sharing arrangement.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Reach 1 A - Reach 1 B Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between Pontchartrain Levee District and St. Charles Parish is hereby approved.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Cooperative Endeavor Agreement on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
