Councilwoman, District VII, Julia Fisher-Cormier lives in Luling and has resided in St. Charles Parish for over 35 years. She is married to Guy Cormier and has one son, Eli Perrier.
Councilwoman Fisher-Cormier is a graduate of Hahnville High School and attended the University of New Orleans as a political science/pre-law major.
Councilwoman Fisher-Cormier has an extensive record as an Elected Official representing St. Charles Parish. She has served on the St. Charles Parish Council from December 17, 2012, as the District VII, Councilwoman then ran unopposed at the Special Election held in 2013, taking office March 13, 2013, to fill an unexpired term. She ran unopposed for her first full term on October 24, 2015, taking office January 11, 2016, then ran unopposed October 12, 2019, taking office January 12, 2020.
Councilwoman Fisher-Cormier served as St. Charles Parish Council Chairman in 2019 and Chairman of the Hurricane Protection Projects Committee from 2014-2022. She served as a member of the Special Projects/Public Safety, Health, and Environmental Committee, the Contract/Finance and Administrative Committee, the Operations, Maintenance and Construction Management Committee, and the Legislative Committee.
Councilwoman Fisher-Cormier served as a member of the Sunset Drainage District Board of Commissioners, the Regional Planning Commission, the Regional Planning Commission Transportation Policy Committee, the St. Charles Parish Hazard Mitigation Plan Committee, the St. Charles Parish Flood Aware Committee, and EOC Planning Committee.
Councilwoman Fisher-Cormier served as an Ex-Officio member of the Housing Authority from 2015-2017, a member of the Paul Maillard Corridor Revitalization Executive Committee, and a member of the South Central Planning & Development Board.
