Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of Amendment No. 1 to the professional services agreement with Picciola & Associates, Inc., for providing necessary professional engineering services for a project that improves the hydraulic capacity into Destrehan Pump Station (P.S.) No. 2 (Parish Project Number P181101).
Body
WHEREAS, the Parish approved Ordinance 19-7-3 that authorized engineering design services to increase the hydraulic capacity into Destrehan P.S. No. 2; and,
WHEREAS, the design services included increasing the size of the sump and adding trash screens to allow all five existing pumps to operate simultaneously; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish discovered that the existing Destrehan P.S. No. 2 structure separates the 72-inch pumps sump and the 48-inch pumps sump, and there is a need to interconnect these sumps, so all pumps can operate simultaneously; and,
WHEREAS, Picciola & Associates requested an amendment to the Agreement to perform additional design services, as shown in the attached Amendment No. 1; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department recommends that this amendment be approved.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That Amendment No. 1 to the professional services agreement with Picciola & Associates, Inc. for a project that improves the hydraulic capacity into Destrehan Pump Station (P.S.) No. 2 (Parish Project Number P181101 is hereby approved and accepted.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said amendment on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
And the ordinance was declared adopted this day of , 2020, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
