IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, for over 40 years, Robert Loupe and his wife Faye have been residents of Norco, Louisiana in St. Charles Parish; they are the proud parents of two children Lisa Kirk and Robert, Jr., six wonderful grandchildren, Chad, Chelse, and Brad Kirk; Robby, Joey, and Caroline Loupe who are 3 year old triplets; and,
WHEREAS, Robert is retired from Motiva with over 30 years of service and has served the residents of Norco as a Volunteer Fireman for over 39 years; and,
WHEREAS, Robert joined the Norco Volunteer Fire Department as a Firefighter in 1967, was elected to the Board of Directors on January 1, 1969 and has served the Board in the following positions: Vice President from January 1969 to January 1971; Assistant Fire Chief from January 1969 to January 1980, serving under two former Fire Chiefs; President from January 1971 to January 1977; Vice-President from January 1977 to January 1980; and on January 1, 1980 was elected as the Fire Chief of the Norco Volunteer Fire Department by the Board of Directors and has served as Chief until January 1, 2007; and,
WHEREAS, throughout Roberts 39 years, plus serving as a Volunteer Fireman, he has served on and has Chaired numerous Committees; and,
WHEREAS, Robert has attended numerous training classes at the department level and at the LSU Firemen's Training Center in Baton Rouge which included a 40-hour Firemanship Training Class at the Seventh LSU Fire College and a 40-hour Officers Training Class at the Eighth LSU Fire College of the Firemen's Training Program; and,
WHEREAS, Robert is a former American Red Cross CPR Instructor, 40-hour First Responder and HazMat Tech, he has attended “Train the Trainer” classes for the Incident Command System and is a Certified Fire Instructor I and II.
