Title
An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of Change Order No. 1 for Parish Project No P060405, Road Maintenance 2008, to add a line item for 10-Inch Depth Portland Cement Concrete Pavement and to increase the contract amount by $85,421.80.
Body
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 09-1-7 adopted January 5, 2009 by the St. Charles Parish Council awarded construction of Parish Project No. P060405, Road Maintenance 2008, to Byron E. Talbot Contractors; and,
WHEREAS, during an investigation of a water leak on James Drive East, it was discovered that the road was ten inches (10”) thick instead of eight inches (8”) thick as was listed in the Contract; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of St Charles Parish to replace sections of James Drive East, as stated in the Contract, with a ten inch (10”) thick road; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the contract to and a line item for the installation of ten inch (10”) thick road and to also adjust the original contract quantities with current quantities resulting in an increase to the contract amount by $85,421.80.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. To approve and authorize the execution of Change Order No. 1 for Parish Project No. P060405, Road Maintenance 2008, to add a line item for 10-Inch Depth Portland Cement Concrete Pavement and to increase the contract amount by $85,421.80.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Change Order.
