Title
An ordinance to amend the Code of Ordinances to revise Chapter 15, Section 15-9. Speed Limits to change the Speed Limit on Ormond Boulevard to 40 miles per hour.
Body
WHEREAS,      the South Central Planning & Development Commission, working under a Federal Highway Administration Rational Speed Study Grant, has conducted a study of Ormond Boulevard in Destrehan; and,
WHEREAS,      the Engineering and Traffic Survey results, based on the 85th percentile standard, recommend that the speed limit on Ormond Boulevard be changed from 35 mph to 40 mph; and,
WHEREAS,      it is the desire of the Parish Council to implement the results of the Engineering and Traffic Study.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I.      That the Code of Ordinances, Section 15-9, (a)(1) is hereby amended to read as follows:
(a)(1)      Ormond Boulevard, Destrehan, speed limit shall be forty (40) miles per hour, except three hundred (300) feet in either direction of Plantation Drive, along Ormond Boulevard, shall be a posted "School Zone" with a speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per hour between 7-9 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. on school days.
