Title
A resolution requesting the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development perform a traffic study to determine the feasibility of the installation of a signal light at the intersection of Longview Drive and LA 48 (River Road), Destrehan.
Body
WHEREAS, LA 48 (River Road) is a very heavily traveled roadway; and,
WHEREAS, the number of vehicles including School Buses carrying children use this roadway on a daily basis is continuing to increase; and,
WHEREAS, the traffic flowing from Longview Drive and the adjacent commercial shopping area's has created a severe traffic safety problem which needs to be addressed by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request that the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development perform a traffic study to determine the feasibility of the installation of a signal light at the intersection of Longview Drive and LA 48 (River Road), Destrehan.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Senator Joel T. Chaisson, II and Representative Gary L. Smith, Jr. requesting their assistance on this matter.

And the resolution was declared adopted this day of , 2008, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
