Title
A resolution requesting the Louisiana Attorney General's Office provide an opinion concerning the relative authority of the St. Charles Parish President and the St. Charles Parish Council, under the St. Charles Parish Home Rule Charter with regards to the selection of firms for professional services and the hiring of said firms for professional services.
Body
WHEREAS, a question developed as to whether or not the St. Charles Parish Council has the authority to select firms for professional services; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the St. Charles Parish Council to understand its authority or lack thereof as provided in the St. Charles Parish Home Rule Charter in the selection of firms for professional services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request the Louisiana Attorney General's Office provide an opinion concerning the relative authority of the St. Charles Parish President and the St. Charles Parish Council, under the St. Charles Parish Home Rule Charter, Article VII, Section B., with regards to the selection of firms for professional services and the hiring of said firms for professional services.
