Title: St. Charles Parish's obligation and actions needed regarding maintenance of the Sunset Drainage District Levee per the St. Charles Parish Sunset Drainage District Cooperative Endeavor Agreement and Levee settlement concerns, namely: 1. Per a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement, St. Charles Parish has duties and responsibilities incumbent upon the Parish to maintain, repair, and/or rehabilitate earthen levees, which the Parish has not been doing, 2. Parish President Larry Cochran is responsible for carrying out what is required of the Parish by the CEA but has failed to do so, 3. Elevation information collected by the Parish indicated that the SDD levee has sank in various areas between 0.5 and 1.4 feet which shows that a more accurate survey is needed to determine exactly where problem areas exist, and 4. A plan needs to be developed on how low areas that are identified are to be raised, until such time formal levee improvements occur and in light of the approaching hurricane season.
