IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Special Olympics Louisiana is a state-wide organization that changes lives by promoting understanding, acceptance, and inclusion between people with and without intellectual disabilities; and,
WHEREAS, the 2014 Special Olympics Louisiana State Fall Classic was held in Carencro and Lafayette, Louisiana on October 17 - 19, 2014; and,
WHEREAS, the competition hosts softball, horseshoes, and aquatic events for nearly 400 Special Olympics Louisiana athletes who qualified for this event in various local and area competitions; and,
WHEREAS, the Special Olympics Aquatics competition was held at the Robicheaux Recreation Center in Lafayette, Louisiana on Saturday, October 18, 2014; and,
WHEREAS, the Bayouland St. Charles Orcas are avid participants in the St. Charles Parish Recreation Special Olympics Program; and,
WHEREAS, members of the St. Charles Parish Council and the Parish President wish to recognize the outstanding performance of the Bayouland St. Charles Orcas, the Unified Relay Partners, and their Coaches.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY RECOGNIZE
