An Ordinance to amend the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Appendix A, Section XXII, regulations for home occupations, by increasing the application fee for home occupations to cover the cost for improved Public Notice signage, and to limit each home occupation to one vehicle.

WHEREAS, There has been an increase in the number of home occupation applications in St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, Public Notice signage is required to be posted on the site of the home occupation to ensure proper public notification for the citizens of St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, Currently, the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances does not regulate the number of vehicles on site for the use of home occupations; and,
WHEREAS, The St. Charles Parish Council desires improved public notice signage and increasing the fees to ensure this; and,
WHEREAS, The St. Charles Parish Council desires to limit each home occupation to one vehicle.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Appendix A, Section XXII. B. is hereby amended as follows:
Preliminary Review: Upon resident application for possible permitting of a home occupation, the Planning Director, or his designated staff, shall conduct a preliminary review of the proposal so as to determine whether the contemplated activity complies with the general intent and operational regulations of this section. If the resident is not the owner of the subject property, he shall, at the time of application, furnish notarized assent to the application by the owner of record. The Planning Director may impose conditions to accompany the application. Should the proposal fail to conform to these regulations the applicant shall be notified in writing of the deficiencies, as well as the option of appeal to the Board of Adjustment in accordance wit...
