IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Ryan Matthew Hondroulis is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in St. Rose, Louisiana with his mother, Raye Ann Hawley, stepfather, Marvin Hawley, and his sister Katie Hondroulis; and,
WHEREAS, Ryan is an Order of the Arrow Member and Member of Troop 231, chartered by St. Philip Neri Catholic in Metairie; and,
WHEREAS, Ryan started his Scouting career as a seven year old Cub Scout, working his way through the ranks as a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and finally an Eagle Scout; and,
WHEREAS, Ryan has spent 10 years as an active member of the Scouts spending his time preparing to become an Eagle Scout; and,
WHEREAS, Ryan has earned his 12 Eagle required merit badges and 22 elective badges from a list of 132 badges and completed his Eagle Scout Service Project by leading fellow scouts, and adult leaders on a week long trail restoration on the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina. The project consisted of clearing brush and rebuilding the Wesser Creek Trail located in Andrews, North Carolina. As project leader he was responsible for finances, logistics, and overall supervision of people and equipment; and,
WHEREAS, Ryan earned these 34 required badges by showing leadership ability as Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, Quarter Master, and Instructor; and,
WHEREAS, Ryan rose to the rank of EAGLE SCOUT on October 14, 2007 and will receive his medal in a ceremony on December 30, 2007 at the St. Philip Neri Church; and,
WHEREAS, Ryan is a senior at Archbishop Rummel High School; he will continue to grow as an Eagle Scout by keeping active in the Scouting Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
