Title
A resolution asking the Parish Council to support forwarding a letter for an opinion from the Louisiana Board of Ethics regarding the nomination of a citizen, spouse of the Public Works/Wastewater Director for St. Charles Parish, to the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
Body
WHEREAS, at the May 21, 2007 Parish Council Meeting, Councilman Derryl Walls nominated the spouse of the Public Works/Wastewater Director for St. Charles Parish to the Zoning Board of Adjustment; and,
WHEREAS, the duties of Board Members involve decisions and passage of matters brought before the Zoning Board of Adjustment where occasionally the Director of Public Works/Wastewater appears before the Board to request approval or denial on certain matters; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish Council requests the opinion of the Louisiana Board of Ethics whether this appointment would be a conflict of interest.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby support forwarding a letter for an opinion from the Louisiana Board of Ethics regarding the nomination of a citizen, spouse of the Public Works/Wastewater Director for St. Charles Parish, to the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
