Title
An ordinance to amend the Code of Ordinances for the Parish of St. Charles, Appendix A, Zoning Ordinance of 1981, Section III. Definitions by adding Floats, and amending Section IV. General provisions, by adding restrictions for Floats.
Body
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Code of Ordinances, Appendix A, Section III. Definitions be hereby amended as follows with new text underlined and deleted text in strikethrough:
Floats: A decorated platform, either built on a vehicle or on a trailer towed behind a vehicle, used to carry participants in organized or special events such as but not limited to Mardi Gras, Irish-Italian, and St. Patrick's Day parades.
SECTION II. That the Code of Ordinances, Appendix A, Section IV. General provisions is hereby amended as follows with new text underlined and deleted text in strikethrough to be incorporated after 8.:
Floats.
1. The storing of floats are prohibited within residentially zoned districts except when stored within a completely enclosed building.
a. Temporary storage of floats in residentially zoned districts shall be allowed up to sixty (60) days prior to the event in which it is to be utilized and no later than fourteen (14) days following the date of the latest event in which it is to be utilized during the same calendar year as its first utilization.
2. This prohibition shall not apply to floats stored in residentially zoned districts prior to the adoption date of this ordinance.
SECTION III. That the foregoing provisions of this ordinance shall be included and incorporated in the Code of Ordinances of the Parish of St. Charles as an addition or amendment thereto, and the provisions shall be appropriately renumbered to conform to the uniform numbering system of the Code.
