Title
An ordinance to amend the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Appendix C, Subdivision Ordinance of 1981, Section II. E. to require the indication of subdivision sewer lift stations on subdivision Final Plats; and Section IV. E. to require encasement of underground streetlight electrical wiring.
Body
WHEREAS, The St. Charles Parish Subdivision Regulations of 1981 provides Mandatory Submission Requirements for subdivision Final Plats; and,
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council desires have sewer lift stations identified on subdivision Final Plats for the issuance of municipal addresses; and,
WHEREAS, this shall establish uniformity in municipal numbering in St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, The St. Charles Parish Subdivision Regulations of 1981 provides geometric standards for Electrical Service/Streetlights; and,
WHEREAS, the Regulations for burial of electrical wire for streetlights do not include the requirement for protective encasement of PVC conduit for the burial wire; and,
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council desires to protect the health safety and welfare of the public by requiring protective encasement of buried electrical wiring for subdivision streetlights.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Appendix C, Section II. E.2. Mandatory Submission Requirements is hereby amended by adding:
s. The location of any sewer lift stations.
SECTION II. That the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Appendix C, Section IV. E. 3. Electrical Service / Streetlights, is hereby amended by adding:
All new installations of buried wire shall be encased in 1-inch PVC conduit. The minimum size and type of copper wire to the light poles shall be #8 THHN.
