Title
A resolution requesting that the Parish President authorize the reimbursement of legal expenses in the amount of $8,589.26 to Mr. Neal Clulee; incurred in defense of the ethics complaint and investigation initiated by the Parish Administration.
Body
WHEREAS, a complaint was filed with the Louisiana Board of Ethics by Parish Attorney, Leon C. Vial, III, charging Mr. Neal Clulee, in his capacity as Commissioner on the St. Charles Parish Planning and Zoning Commission, as violating La. R.S. 42:1113B; and,
WHEREAS, as a result of the complaint to Louisiana Board of Ethics by the Parish Attorney, Mr. Neal Clulee retained legal counsel in his defense of the alleged ethics violations; and,
WHEREAS, in April 2012, the Ethics Adjudicatory Board of the Division of Administrative Law agreed with legal counsel for Mr. Clulee that the complaint lacked merit and unanimously dismissed the charges by way of Summary Judgment; and,
WHEREAS, the result of the ethics investigation proved the allegations to be unfounded and were dismissed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request that the Parish President authorize the reimbursement of legal expenses in the amount of $8,589.26 to Mr. Neal Clulee; incurred as a result of defending the ethics complaint and investigation initiated by the Parish Administration.
